At Nuvola Café , Cuore Italiano , we like to bring not only flavors but also stories to your cup.
And now by popular demand , on our menu, you will find a novelty that tastes of Savoy elegance and enveloping sweetness: the Bicerin.
This hot, non-alcoholic drink, which has become a symbol of the magical city of Turin, was born in the heart of the 18th century and owes its name to the small glass in which it was (and still is) served.
To this day, it is still iconically served in the historic establishment where it was invented: in fact, legend has it that it was the favorite drink of Camillo Benso Count of Cavour, who habitually sipped it in the historic café “Al Bicerin,” right next to the Sanctuary of the Consolata.
The Bicerin is a fine balance of espresso coffee, dark chocolate and milk cream, served in three overlapping layers that do not mix.
It was considered an elegant treat, capable of warming the body and soul during the cold days in Turin.
Today, the Bicerin is recognized as a traditional Piedmontese drink, and we at Nuvola Café are happy to let you discover, or rediscover, it in its most authentic and mouth-watering form, just as we will do for any other local specialty that makes our Italy great and famous in the world .
